At the Council meeting on 27th July Chris Lofts will propose a motion that SNC supports the campaign to bring back free bus passes for companions of residents with their own bus pass. The Council will be asked to agree that it:
1) Is concerned that Northamptonshire County Council has not continued the policy of issuing concessionary travel passes to companions of residents who themselves qualify for concessionary travel.
2) Instructs the Chief Executive to write to the county council expressing concerns over the issue and requesting that the policy decision be reviewed.
3) Requests that the Leader contacts the Leader of Northamptonshire County Council to discuss the issue and to report back to Council on the outcome of these discussions.
